As a protégé, you will be able to:

- Explore opportunities, anxieties and feelings when dealing with new and specific issues
However, you will also have responsibilities to:
- Have a clear understanding of your goals for the relationship
- Be considerate about your mentor’s time
- Be reliable and respond to communication in a timely manner
- Attend scheduled meetings with your mentor
- Prepare your career goal and objectives in advance
- Remain open to suggestions and opinions
- Accept and reflect on constructive criticism
- Maintain confidentiality
- Realize when the relationship has run its course
- Remember that Mentors are not looking for an employee – Don’t ask for a job!
To be eligible to participate, protégés must be a current individual or corporate member of LSO.
