As a protégé, you will be able to:

  • Explore opportunities, anxieties and feelings when dealing with new and specific issues

 

However, you will also have responsibilities to:

  • Have a clear understanding of your goals for the relationship
  • Be considerate about your mentor’s time
  • Be reliable and respond to communication in a timely manner
  • Attend scheduled meetings with your mentor
  • Prepare your career goal and objectives in advance
  • Remain open to suggestions and opinions
  • Accept and reflect on constructive criticism
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Realize when the relationship has run its course
  • Remember that Mentors are not looking for an employee – Don’t ask for a job!

To be eligible to participate, protégés must be a current individual or corporate member of LSO.
